7.5 million students receive special education and/or related services under the Disabilities Education Act… but what happens when these students graduate? These students and their parents are left without resources to make the jump to adulthood. That’s where The Titus Special Education Advocacy Group steps in. The nonprofit will champion neurodivergent individuals with a four-part structure to help students thrive their whole lives. With educational workshops and resources, guidance on transitioning to adulthood, and a built-in support system, this nonprofit has a robust plan to aid children who need additional help the public school system sometimes struggles to offer.
The Titus Special Education Advocacy Group is a growing nonprofit under the umbrella of The Titus School, an e9digital client since 2019. Natalie Brandefine, one of the founders of The Titus School, had a clear vision of what the nonprofit needs to be, and it takes time to build the programs offered. One of the first steps is creating a website so interested individuals in the nonprofit, including parents of children with special needs/neurodiverse populations and providers of services, can get in touch. However, It’s one thing to have a clear vision yourself and another to communicate it to others.
The Titus Special Education Advocacy Group hired e9digital to create a website that could grow with the nonprofit, detailing the services that would help special needs children thrive. Our challenge was to design a home page and interior pages that Titus Special Education Advocacy Group would use to expand their reach and help their target audience. We’re always excited to work with nonprofits and have built platforms for many organizations, including Elevate Teaching and One Us Consulting.

“It was important for the mission statement to tie together The Titus School and The Titus Special Education Advocacy Group, to see how the nonprofit can leverage lessons learned to empower the families, parents, and guardians of children with special needs.” – Jesse Cohen, Creative Director | e9digital
The e9digital copywriters and project manager worked closely with Titus Special Education Advocacy Group to craft compelling website copy, a mission statement, and services pages aligned with the organization’s needs. While the nonprofit has been created, the website will be the jumping-off point to attract people in the field, gather interest in their cause, and plan events that align with the nonprofit’s goals. The sky’s the limit on what Titus can achieve for special education!
Our team crafted the mission statement using the copy provided by Titus Special Education Advocacy Group–we just put on the final touches to ensure the message was comprehensive and clear.
97% of donors report that the impact of their gift is their main motivation for giving
Our designers wanted the homepage to affirm that Titus Special Education Advocacy Group was the right choice for potential donors, interested parents, and people offering services. That starts with the hero image, where the nonprofit promises to champion lifelong education and support for special needs families.
We leveraged the same branding, colors, and logo animation from The Titus School website to further establish the connection between the two groups. The logo for the two groups is nearly identical, but we updated the voice to align with the mission of the new nonprofit.
Our goal for the homepage is to create a user-friendly experience that gives visitors a comprehensive view of the organization. By the time the parent or services provider has scrolled to the bottom, we want them to feel confident to reach out to Titus Special Education Advocacy Group. We utilized e9digital best practices for the layout of content, including the following items:
- A sticky menu for easy navigation to internal site pages.
- An animated hero image and engaging header to draw in a family’s attention.
- A mission statement section to define the nonprofit and link their about page so families can learn more.
- A work section that outlines the four pillars of the nonprofit and the services they plan to provide.
- A story section that showcases the passion of the founders of the Titus School.
- A final CTA (call-to-action) to get involved with the nonprofit through donations, volunteer opportunities, and collaborative partnerships.
The client often asks us to make changes along the way, so we recently added a section on the Department of Education. Titus Special Education Advocacy Group is helping families, providers, and other schools file claims for the DOE settlement.
58% of nonprofits use WordPress.org as their content management system
