Key Takeaways:
- e9digital’s new website helps homeowners understand ReliON’s title insurance for protecting their new homes.
- The site’s inviting design uses illustrations to demystify title insurance while guiding users through each step.
- ReliON was pleased with the final result: a user-focused design that turned a complex topic into an engaging experience.
Love makes a house a home… but homeowners risk losing their precious new home to some rando unless they get their title insurance squared away. In plain English, the title to the house could have a missing record, divorce issue, or tax liens. Someone else could claim the title to your house after it’s purchased. Not fair! However, ReliON is here to save the day. They offer title insurance services, which makes the company responsible for clearing the property of any liens or encumbrances that could threaten its new owners.
While all of this is amazing, grasping this concept is challenging for homeowners. Enter e9digital. Our designers were tasked with creating a website that distilled this information into digestible content, increasing conversions. We’d been fortunate to work with ReliOn once before on their sister company, Settlement Engine, and they were happy with our work there. We love it when a trusted client comes back for another website design!
No matter the business size, hiring a team that studies your target audience and creates a modern UX design that appeals to their needs is critical, cementing that crucial first impression. In this case, ReliON already had the logo and colors, so the designer drew inspiration from those elements when selecting the typeface and palette. What was most important about the site was that it would be inviting for homeowners and easy to navigate.
“Going with an illustrative approach felt light-hearted and approachable, and it also avoided the typical stock photo appearance.” - Tim Kirchoff, Lead Designer and Developer | e9digital
The website complements text with illustrations of happy families, which speaks to the target market. These images bring in the security aspect that title insurance offers. Underline animations brought life to the page and highlighted specific words important to the target audience. While we implemented e9digital’s UX best practices, such as the logo on the top left menu, this website differs slightly from our usual bread and butter.
The site is a step-by-step walkthrough of the intricacies of title insurance and ends with ReliON’s service offering. It reads as a story, and at the bottom of each page is a link that directs the user to the next step. The four pages cover:
- What is title insurance
- Vesting, or how to take the title
- The difference between lenders’ and owners’ title insurance
- Enhanced vs. standard title policies
Providing complicated information in smaller quantities makes it easier for the user to understand. It also works as a natural funnel for conversions: people fully understand the need for title insurance when they reach the service page, making them more likely to reach out to ReliON. Alternatively, all of these pages can be navigated through the menu if a user already understands the intricacies of title insurance. They can go directly to the contact or service pages.
User-friendly design that increases sales
ReliON hadn’t explored a welcoming, illustrative approach, and they were pleasantly surprised by the design and agreed that it matched their objective. We worked with them every step of the way, guaranteeing they were enthusiastic about the result. Those words are music to our ears–our team at e9digital conducts thorough research to ensure our approaches appeal to your specific audience. We’re tickled pink when a client is happy with the final product!
