Key Takeaways:
- e9digital merged science and UX design for Sapphiros’ website, targeting diagnostic tech entrepreneurs.
- An inviting video, a company carousel, and a values section show how Sapphiros advances healthcare innovation.
- The new website’s modern design strengthens Sapphiros’ outreach efforts, drawing in potential partners.
Communities and leaders need knowledge to navigate life’s choices and decisions. That’s the message on which privately-held consumer diagnostic portfolio company Sapphiros operates. They partner with and support talented entrepreneurs with the vision and passion for bringing transformative new diagnostic technologies to the world, including companies like Go to Know, Sapphiros AI Bio, and Graphene Dx. Sapphiros does this by investing in growth-stage diagnostic companies and empowering them with the full strength of their collective resources, capital, and expertise.
However, their current website didn’t accurately portray this story to their target audience. Sapphiros is always looking for entrepreneurs to partner with to evolve diagnostic technologies further. They needed a solid website foundation to encourage entrepreneurs to reach out and to act as the home base for outreach. Our designers at e9digital previously created the website for Neoenta, and Sapphiros is another B2B venture from Namal Nawana. He serves as the Executive Chairman, so he hired our team to work on the site for Sapphiros. He trusts our expertise in design for the B2B space, and we love working for him–it’s a win-win!
The copywriters and designers worked closely with the Sapphiros team to update the website content and design, adding relevant information, such as the sixth board member.
55% of people watch videos online every day
If you want to capture people’s attention, video is the best place to start. Our designer added a simple, intriguing video to the hero image of Sapphiro’s homepage. It’s a short loop, with a person in a lab coat and safety glasses in the background, with the image of a moving double-helix in a lightbulb in the foreground. The video engages entrepreneurs, helping them imagine what it would be like if their idea came to play in real life. It showcases Sapphiros’ scientific expertise without taking away from the three CTAs included as buttons in the hero image:
- Our Companies: So entrepreneurs can see if their ideas fit.
- Meet Our Team: So entrepreneurs can see if their idea is in the right hands.
- About Sapphiros: So entrepreneurs can understand the goals of who they are working with.
e9digital always follows UX design best practices, so a stylized arrow beneath the CTA indicates more content to scroll and view. Everything the target audience needs to find is linked to the home page. This way, they’ll still find the information they want if they don’t click the hamburger menu (that small box of lines you see at the top right corner of some websites). As entrepreneurs continue down the homepage, they’ll gain a depth of understanding that makes them confident to work with Sapphiros. The page follows e9digital best practices, including:
- A news section to showcase accolades and exciting events.
- An about section to gain a bird’s eye view of the company.
- A footer to make it easy to navigate around the website.
For Sapphiros, we included two distinct sections to appeal to their target audience. First, a carousel highlights their family of companies, each resembling plate glass that a biotech worker may use to view a specimen in a microscope. When the user clicks on the company, a small blurb pops up in a circle, inspired by how a slide looks under a microscope. Small details like this add a specialized touch that speaks to what the target audience uses daily.
Second, we added a values section. Entrepreneurs need to know what Sapphiros stands for and how they run their business. This sets a positive expectation and showcases how the firm isn’t just here to fund companies but to help them deliver extraordinary innovation and technology that changes healthcare.
“Thank you so much. This website looks great. It’s brilliant.” – Mark Gladwell, CEO, President, and Board Member | Sapphiros
Now, Sapphiros has a modern, sophisticated website to showcase their powerful capabilities and draw in more entrepreneurs. The company continues to grow and recently received a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to “Establish pathways for rapid diagnostic development and scaling of manufacturing to meet health needs and demand within areas experiencing high burdens due to infectious diseases in low- and middle-income countries.” We’re excited to see how Sapphiros redefines healthcare technology for the better!
