Content Marketing Strategy for Virtual Events

So many moving parts…

Events are notorious for having lots of variables, details, timed out deliverables, and last-second tasks. This is even more true when going through a big transition, and this year with its many hurdles forced the event to go virtual for the very first time. e9 has plenty of experience with event marketing, one example is our ongoing relationship with the New York Housing Committee and their Annual Awards. Through working with the NYHC, e9 also developed a relationship with K2new Business Development & Marketing Strategy. It was because of this relationship that K2new tapped e9’s skills to create the marketing assets for this year’s Night Out.

“We know you guys have gone above and beyond and we truly appreciate it. Your design work elevated the whole project and you have shown patience throughout the Job.”Laura D’Aprix | Director of Development, CAMBA

CAMBA is a non-profit focused on providing resources and support that build a foundation of economic stability, educational fulfillment, strong families, and healthy lives. As their premier event, it is necessary to raise the funds needed to provide critical services to New Yorkers in need, services such as emergency food, affordable housing, legal services, and educational support. This year’s event which took place on November 12, was attended completely virtually and included a featured performance by Norah Jones.

So many deliverables….

In order to properly pull off this year’s event, there was a long, but fast-moving collaboration between e9, K2new, and CAMBA. Just some of the many assets created and/or managed by e9 included:

  • An event website, using the Swoogo platform
  • Email templates, and over 6 individual email designs
  • Promotions for their digital auction platform
  • Animated Icons
  • Updated Event Logo
  • A series of web graphics and other branding elements
  • 40-page digital event presentation/program
  • Digital Zoom background

With people being unable to meet in person, we knew it was important to keep things light and fun. Using vibrant colors, photo collages, and animations throughout ensured this virtual event was just as successful as past, in-person events.

So many challenges, but no problems…

Certainly, it is a major feat to manage so many moving parts and milestones, but keeping things as organized as possible by using methods and drawing upon experience allowed for everything to ultimately get completed on time, and even more importantly – successfully!

We’d like to congratulate CAMBA on what was one of their most successful “Night Out” events yet, and thank K2new for their hard work and collaboration.

With COVID-19 came a huge shift in the way we prepare and execute a large event like this one, mainly when it came to communication. This was a great project that added a new tool to the e9 toolbox.
