A website for Sequitur Renewables that harnesses the power of wind

Key Takeaways:

You might feel frustrated trying to ride your bike against the wind, but those are the best days for Sequitur Renewables. The company owns wind assets across the United States and runs them at a low cost. Due to their minimal operating budget, they can sell electricity and renewable energy credits directly into the grid and through contracts with third parties at a reasonable price. Sequitur Renewables promotes renewable energy options.

However, they needed a validation tool so potential energy sellers could learn more about them. Think of it like getting a legal referral–you will probably call the person no matter what, but you want to get to know the firm a little before doing so.

Sequitur Renewables hired e9digital to create a one-page website that defined their overall mission and purpose for their target audience, energy sellers. Our team was the ideal choice for the project because we’ve worked with other organizations within the energy sector, including Global Energy

Professionalism must be communicated from a potential customer’s first interaction with a website to increase relevant engagement, and energy sellers are no different. Our designers took inspiration from the Sequitur Renewables logo to ensure the branding matched throughout their website.  The photos have an overlay that changes hue from yellow to green, from left to right, seamlessly integrating the logo colors.

Our designers took inspiration from the logo again for the image next to the about section and call-to-action (CTA). They implemented the lightning bolt from the logo’s center and used a cut-out in the image to abstractly match it.  These consistent branding choices are what increase website conversions.

A simple menu anchors the homepage, with the logo in the middle indicating users are in the right place. Wind farms are ridgetop, so the horizontal hero image showcases an actual photo from one of Sequitur Renewable’s sites. Cost is the number one decision-maker for energy sellers, so the CTA highlights that Sequitur Renewables provides safe and profitable wind power in a professional, straightforward manner.

Moving down the homepage, we followed e9digital best practices to ensure energy sellers would feel confident working with Sequitur Renewables, including:

  • An about section to highlight the strengths of the company.
  • A portfolio section to highlight their work–in the case of Sequitur Renewables, this was the locations of their different wind farms with enticing photography.
  • A news section to highlight milestones and exciting announcements.
  • A contact form to reach out to the company and learn more.
  • A simple footer with a clickable logo that takes them back to the top of the page.

Sequitur Energy had a 35% increase in engaged sessions (a visit 10 seconds or longer) in the past four months

Sequitur Energy now has a modern, UX-designed website that acts as a calling card and gives them credibility online. If an energy seller hears about Sequitur Energy, they can google the company and find a clean, professional website, creating a powerful first impression before the potential customer reaches out.
