Key Takeaways:
- e9digital designed Biocrucible’s new website to highlight its innovative molecular diagnostics and attract partners.
- The design focuses on Biocrucible’s rapid testing capabilities, integrating advanced visuals like a moving double helix.
- The website links Biocrucible to the Sapphiros family, elevating it in the $567 billion global medical tech industry.
For a doctor to understand the best course of action with an infectious disease, a patient must test quickly. However, many individuals don’t have access to testing, and public shaming from previous epidemics like COVID and HIV prevents people from going to the doctor and getting a test. Biocrucible, a company owned by Sapphiros, is looking to change that. Biocrucible is developing proprietary molecular detection technologies deploying ultra-rapid isothermal nucleic acid amplification, enabling near-patient and at-home testing for infectious disease or genetic indications.
CEO and visionary Namal Nawana runs the company Sapphiros and has hired e9digital to work on websites for other companies he works with. He had a great experience with our team, so he brought us on to design the website for Biocrucible as well. The website needed to showcase and educate clearly how Biocrucible can deliver reliable testing results quickly to potential investors and other companies, encouraging them to partner with Biocrucible. Additionally, we wanted the website to feel unique yet match the broader family of companies it’s a part of, including KKR, Sapphiros Laboratories, and Neoenta Design.
“The old site had minimal design and content, and the client direction was limited. We had a blank canvas to work with, and sometimes that is exciting but also challenging to create out of thin air.” - Tim Kirchoff, Lead Designer and Developer | e9digital
A clean interface where the logo stands out
The standard e9digital design practice is to create a menu that spans the top of the page. However, there are exceptions, even to tried and true practices. For Biocrucible, our designer wanted the top portion of the site to feel very clean with minimal text, focusing on the four CTAs (calls to action).
Our designer opted for a hamburger menu (a small box with horizontal lines) at the top right of the page. When clicked, the menu expands, allowing the logo and hero messaging to stand out. Hamburger menus are commonly used in phone applications, so it’s intuitive for smartphone users (which make up 90% of all cell phones).
In the kickoff call, our team dives deep with the client to understand the target market and build out the home page. From there, we grab the color palette, iconography, and font choices with the client-provided logo in mind. We wanted to display their unique scientific technology with an advanced tech design inspired by a dark theme with vibrant accent colors. The moving double helix captures the user’s attention as soon as they land on the page and sets the tone correctly for the novel proprietary molecular technology platform.
Our team also curved from the ordinary when creating the rest of the home page. While we created an about section to give a brief overview of the company (in this particular instance, it showcases how Biocrucible sets itself apart with a continually improved quality system), the rest of the page differed from standard content.
Our designers always have the target audience in mind when creating a website. With testing, potential buyers need assurance that Biocrucible has followed the rules and regulations to a T. We made the voice a trusted authority and copy digestible, removing all barriers to entry.
For the Biocrucible site, we changed up the homepage by including sections about:
- Their revolutionary products, which are molecular diagnostics. Only a small bit of information could be provided here, but the “Contact Us” CTA invites people to reach out to learn more. Can’t give any information to competitors!
- Their values to innovate, care, and deliver, showing that they care equally about the product and the people that make them.
- Their partners, since Biocrucible is under the Sapphiros umbrella of companies, a wide network of companies advancing medical technology.
The global medical technology industry is worth over 567 billion U.S. dollars annually
Biocrucible was pleased with the end result and excited to have a more robust site that better explained the technology and tied them to the greater Sapphiros company. Now, they can continue to spread the word about their market testing, make the technology accessible for everyone, and take a larger slice of the global medical technology industry pie.
